The radar signal processing is the general applications of digital signal processing,computer and very large scale integrate circuit(VLSI). With the widely used of field-programmable gate array (FPGA), implementation of digital signal processing based on FPGA holds an important position in radar signal processing. FPGA has the advantages of the small volume, fast speed and good stability over the DSP. So radar signal processing with FPGA will be the necessary choose. At the same time, quantization finite-word length of FPGA processing is very important.According to the basic theory of radar signal processing, radar signal processing design is presented and quantization finite-word length of processing is analyzed in this paper, with the high performance of the radar signal processing based on FPGA. At the beginning, quantization finite-word length is given briefly, and radar signal processing with FPGA and the error is given briefly. Then the principle of Direct Digital Frequency Synthesis (DDS) and the design with FPGA are described particularly. And the spur of DDS is analyzed particularly. And then the principle of pulse compression and the design with FPGA are introduced. And the error of pulse compression is analyzed. Finally the principle of FIR filter and its quantization finite word length are discussed.
