In recent years,with the rapid development of science and technology,the radar system is widely used in military and civil systems.Millimeter wave radar with all-weather and environmental adaptability in short range has the advantages of small volume and light weight,also overcomes difficulties such as production,precision machining of millimeter wave devices,so that the research on millimeter wave technology and its application has become a new upsurge.Millimeter wave radar is often used in the fields of low angle tracking,altimeter,precision guidance,mapping,imaging,and collision.Besides the impetus of military application,the civil application of millimeter wave radar is also developing rapidly,and the demand has exceeded the military millimeter wave radar.The application is mainly range radar?velocity radar and collision warning radar.Millimeter wave radar can produce many waveform,such as continuous wave,wide band linear frequency modulated wave,pulse stepped frequency wave,coherent pulse train wave,and other waveform.Compared with other waveform millimeter wave radar,continuous wave system of millimeter wave FMCW radar can eliminate blind range;millimeter wave FMCW radar has a wider frequency bandwidth,which can obtain higher range resolution and measurement accuracy.Compared with the pulse millimeter wave radar,the peak power of the FMCW radar is lower and the structure is more simple.At present,FMCW radar has been widely used in the fields of range and velocity measurement,unmanned aerial vehicle navigation,and blind spot monitoring.The front end of radar is the key part of millimeter wave radar system.In this thesis,we focus on the research of the front end of the FMCW radar system,and design a new 24GHz radar front-end system based on integrated chip.Firstly,the basic theory of frequency modulated continuous wave radar is briefly introduced,and performance of the index for radar front end radar system.Based on the analysis of the basic structure of the front end of the FMCW radar system,and introduces the key component of the frequency modulation continuous wave radar front end system structure 24GHz frequency source.Then,the frequency synthesis technology is studied,including several methods of frequency synthesis technology,and the technical index to evaluate the performance of frequency synthesizer.the adoptive methods of frequency synthesis of the basic principle and the structure is investigated.meanwhile the required phase locked loop circuit is designed.Finally,a brief introduction of the MMIC chip used in the front end of the FMCW radar system is presented.the appropriate radar front-end system is designed,tested and analyzed.
