Online games teenagers were shaped into "perpetrators" and "victims" that were easily addicted to online games in more than a decade of reports by mass media.Though,in real life,they prefer violent types of games and the longer they play online games the more likely they will agree with the concepts online games convey,they haven't been significantly affected.Most online games teenagers believe there's no particular change after playing online games,and identity of this group for them is also chaotic.Because of the influence of media reports,the social cognitive attitude toward online games and the adolescent players tends to be negative while the public opinion is more tolerant to teenagers' engagement in online games,and some people have realized that the media description of online games adolescents is too negative.The image of online games teenagers in media reporting is distinct from reality,which mainly means positive media coverage over online games teenagers is in shortage,and the negative aspects and negative degree of online game teenagers in reports are quite different from the present world.These differences cause deviation of adolescents' self-cognition from public awareness in a way,and impede the development of online-game industry.By distorting the realistic image of online games teenagers,and then influencing the construction mechanism of people's subjective reality,the mass media eventually has the online games youth categorized.This process consists of three phases,i.e.initial shaping,stereotyping and deconstructing.The decisive effect of policies,the significant influence ofcommercial interests and the latent influence of social attitude all contribute to the image deviation of online-game teen players.The key and also the premise of reshaping the media image of online games teenagers is to purify the game environment and living environment for adolescents.During this process,the mass media should consciously abide by the principle of “balancing protecting and guiding",adhering to the media objective "responsibility first" and optimizing the media mechanism of "strict checking".Through these measures,the mass media can finally achieve the goal of objective coverage and positive guidance to the online game teenagers.
