Now we are living in a society with the unprecedented developed social media technology. For the adolescents in the cities, they can conveniently get much more information resources. Meanwhile, the information environment is also more complicated. The mass media with the main function of disseminate information will choose to pass on information according to the principle of maximizing audience, thus they do not consider that such information may influence adolescents’ physical and mental development. In the growth (socialization) process of the adolescents in the cities, facing the positive and negative information, the parents should dominate helping adolescents critically to receive and understand the media and the information they transmit and the school and community should also guide and help them.This paper, with research objects of the adolescents and their parents in the cities of Jiangsu, analyzes the impact material conditions and non-material conditions of their families on adolescents’ contact of the media, then, it put forward countermeasures and advice. Parents are anticipated to do from themselves. They should improve family’s media consumption idea and atmosphere through their media literacy. Therefore, the adverse effects of the media’s negative contents on the adolescents can mitigate, the service efficiency of the media can be enhanced. Only in this way, we can cultivate adolescents with positive attitude, correct world view and values.
