| JPEG2000 is the new image compression standard specified by ISO and ITU-T,it has incomparable advantage to other compression algorithm,on static image compression upon Compared with JPEG image compression algorithm the most popular at present JPEG2000 will not produce upon Mosaic distortion,it’s compression performance is about 30% higher than JPEG,what’s more,it supports both lossy and lossless compression,supports progressive transmission,supports IOR,etc.It is widely used in digital cameras,digital movie,medical imaging and other fields.The traditional video compression method needs prediction intra-frame and interframe,but motion JPEG2000,part III of JPEG2000 standard,needs only intra-frame.It has many good qualities,such as strong resistance to ber,easy to edit,etc.In this paper,Jpeg2000 standard and related theories are introduced firstly,containing discrete wavelet transform,arithmetic encoding,rate control,codestream organization,etc.This provided theoretical basis for design and optimization of the system.Then demand function of the system is analyzed,depending the demand,the JPEG2000 image compression system is designed,it has FPGA as the main control chip,and ADV212 as the core of image compression,this system can compress video with JPEG2000,because of discard of interframe,it is of great use in target identification,medical domain,etc.The hardware circuit of the system is designed,including FPGA,ADV212,memory system,power system,etc.The PCB of the system is designed and the circuit board is made.The control circuit of every modules is designed in Verilog HDL,and embedded soft core is used for the control of ethernet chip.The function of the design is verified with Modelsim,and the implementation is also tested on FPGA platform with Quartus II.The result of compression is transfered to PC by ethernet,and the decompression of image shows that the performance of system meets the requirements. |
