The United Kingdom allowing same-sex couples entered into civil partnerships since 2005.In July 2013,same-sex marriage laws were adopted. Then,in March 29 on 2013,the British's same-sex marriage laws entered into force, the United Kingdom quickly grew into one of the world's friendliest countries to LGBTI groups.European Region of the International Lesbian,Gay,Bisexual,Trans and Intersex Association conducted a survey on 2014,the Rainbow Europe Map 2014 shows that the United Kingdom gets the score of 82% on the Human Rights Situation of LGBTI People, and 82% is the top score in Europe. This study focused on the UK,and chose the gay rights reports from The Times to find the framing of the issues about gay rights. The thesis applied the perspective of theoretical framework, respond specifically to three main issues: the first topic is about the news frame of the gay rights reports on The Times;the second subject is to analyzes the frame use on source and group image;the third part discusses the socio-cultural context behind the reports' framing. This research combining quantitative analysis with qualitative analysis, using both content analysis and text analysis, and adopted the route of the “interpretive packages” derived from William A· Gamson and Kathryn Eilene Lasch. In the final, all these reports about gay rights on The Times are divided into three different frameworks, there are resistance frame, assistance frame and victory frame. In these frames, the media applied different interpretive strategies, but conveys the same chief proposition in the end, which reflects that The Time stand by gay community, and support them to fight for the equal rights. The overall news attempt to tell audiences that defending gay rights are belong to human rights campaign,a liberal and advances society should foster equality, our government should do more to support lesbian, gay, transsexual and bisexual people,to ensure they are not discriminated against,no matter where they live. There is no place for discrimination.By the gay rights reports on The Times,we can also spy into the United Kingdom's social situations about gay rights issues. We noticed that religion becomes the heaviest block on the road to the equal gay rights,as it's an important basis for anti-gay,thus,religion and homosexuality are closely linked;secondly, gay rights as an issue of politics, are directly related to the UK's political activities and political parties. The Times uses defacing strategy to present the image of opponents,in order to transmit a specific value. At the same time, the media took the supportive views as the dominant views and proper values. This kind of framing could guide public opinion and promote gay affirmative indeed, but it also has some problems,we should take it seriously.
