Wireless Sensor Networks(WSNs), combining sensors, wireless network and data processing, use sensors to collect information, and transmit the data wirelessly, and thus all the information can be shared. WSNs have been widely used in military, agircultural, industurial applications and our daily lives. The wirelss sensor node is one of the key modules of WSN. With the development of technologies, wireless sensors are designed towards lower power, smaller footpring and higher integration, where the Application Specific Integrated Circuit(ASIC) design of wireless sensor node is the key. This thesis is to design a wireless temperature sensor chip used in power substation. Based on literature surveys on low power wireless sensors and the requirements of the application, the duty-cycle based technology is chosen. The architecture of the sensor node and the design parameters of the chip are discussed and determined. And then the digital modules and the analog modules of the chip are introduced in detail separately., including digital controller, bangap, temperature sensor, analog-to-digital converter and so on. All the circuits are verified by the simulation through the digital circuits design tools and analog circuits design tools, and the layout design is also completed. The chip is designed with the process of XFAB 0.35?m. The chip power consumption in wake-up mode is about 36.5mW, but only 0.6?W is achieved in this chip by using duty cycle technology. The chip can measure the tempreture with 0.16? resolution at the range of-20~120?.
