The Internet based on IPv4 protocol is developing quickly, but with the development and reformation of Internet, the lack of IPv4 addresses is the main bottleneck of its development, for the reason, IETF standardize the IPv6 protocol to solve the problem. However, it's difficult to solve the other problem about the compatibility of IPv4 and IPv6, so the smooth transition from IPv4 to IPv6 is inevitable trend of the Internet development and the existence of IPv4 and IPv6 will be for a long time.AFT(Address Family Translation) is an advanced translated technology about transition from IPv4 to IPv6. AFT transforms address and protocol of packets on the AFT device which is located in the edge of the IPv4 and IPv6 networks. The transform mechanism of AFT is transparent for IPv4/IPv6 terminal device and don't effect the working principle of IPv4/IPv6 terminal device. AFT support some advanced characteristics, such as ALG(Application Level Gateway), which can transform the address information in the advanced protocol to satisfy the requirement of IPv4/IPv6, can promote the general applicability of AFT. The implement of AFT is based on the network operation system of H3 C, the test scheme of AFT mainly verifies the function and performance, such as address translation, protocol conversion and AFT supporting ALG, in detail, the stateless NAT64 prefix and stateless IVI prefix, which are stateless translation as important transformation tool, address pool and address of special interfaces are significant dynamic translation. What's more, the throughput, session creating and concurrence belonging to the performance of test scheme is worth watching.Analyzing and comparing the current main IPv4/IPv6 transition technologies with AFT, the design and implement of test scheme can verify the requirement of IPv4/IPv6 transition and reveals the advantage of AFT. The test result can prove the feasibility, validity and availability of AFT, insuring the commercial requirement of AFT and supporting the development of IPv4/IPv6 transition technology, and driving the development of IPv6.
