| Ever since the born of the Internet,IPv4 turned out to be the core protocol and greatly enhanced the fast development of information technology.Today somehow IPv4 addresses are in short of usage as Internet users are increasing drasticly,and new application models are imposing higher requirments that are not compatible with IPv4-based Internet architecture.Internet Protocol version 6 has been regarded the core network protocol of the next generation network.As IPv4 address space had been exhausted already,and IPv4 resources are dying out day by day,IPv6 deployments have taken place around the globe.Intemet is bringing a booming number of new applications which impose a strong impact on network infrastructures we currently use.Thus,IPv6 broadband access technology has become an urgency for providers to acknowledge.IPv6 protocol was drifted in 1991 by IETF.It created an extremely large addressing space.It supports mobility and security much better than IPv4.This paper introduced the latest versions of IPv6 transitional access technologies,made several comparisons and gave suggestions on IPv6 deployment.Finally an IPv6 test plan was designed and tested,the results of which,along with the IPv6 basic deployments, provides available IPv6 broadband access references for service providers. |
