As the clouds with the irregular geometry, subtle color changes and the complex characteristics, also affected by the surrounding atmosphere, it is very difficult to make a simulation in the field of virtual reality.The rapid development of computer visualization technology allows virtual reality technology be widely applied in the aerospace, military exercises, weather and three-dimensional game, and make the requirements of the virtual scene visualization risen also. Based on the comparative analysis of various methods of generating the virtual clouds, summarize the advantages of various methods, this paper puts forward a massive clouds data visualization method based on particle system, according to the principle of particle system image generation, through analytical the massive clouds detail data give a visual clouds generating methods with strong sense of reality and build a clouds data visualization system.Firstly, the paper make an introduce of the professional and technical terminology which are involved in the process of building visualization system, like visualization techniques, particle system and LOD(Levels of Detail)technology, then make an analysis of the detailed minutiae and classification of real cloud. Though the comparative analysis of various methods of generate virtual clouds, the paper puts forward the method of massive cloud data visualization method based on particle system: through analyze clouds detail data, build the contour of real clouds, and make particle system generates a large number of particles to fill the contour of clouds, simulate the drops of water and ice crystals, and then in order to realize the change of the colors, textures and other details of the clouds, initialize the properties of the particles, finally using the LOD technology to optimize the visualization clouds models, improve the real-time of clouds data visualization system. At last, though the visual effect contrast and the introduce of function of the clouds data visualization system, make an evaluation of the clouds visual effects, demonstrates the validity and correctness of the visual clouds generation method, and has some significance for application. |
