Environment simulation technology has been one of the hot and difficult topics in the Virtual Reality, Computer Graphics, Computer Games, etc. As one part of the natural scenes, Snowing is an essential part of the environment simulation system. In the environment simulation system, if there is no snowing scene, it is not a perfect winter scene system. The snowing scene has been widely used in the Virtual Reality, Computer Animation, Computer Games, Advertising Effects, etc. This paper focuses on the sky technology of snow simulation just as following.1. To solve the problem of simulating snow, we proposed the method of basing on advanced particle system to render the snow scene. Firstly, this paper described the three layers, including the snow particles, the snow particles cluster, and the snow particles cluster management, of the advanced particle system in detail. And then we introduced the initialization of the snow particles, the snow particles cluster and the snow particles cluster management. Thirdly, we updated the property of the snow particles and the snow particles cluster, according to the movement of the snow particle. At last, we rendered the snow particles and the snow particles cluster.2. To deal with the problem of depositing snow; we proposed the method of basing on the height field to render the snow deposition scene. Firstly, we initialized the scene basing on the height field. Secondly, for the small number of snow in the scene, we calculated the deposition of snow basing on the point. Thirdly, as the increasing of the snow, we calculated the deposition of the snow basing on the point and the area. Finally, we rendered the deposition scene of the snow.3. In order to solve the problem of simulating wind, we improved the method of basing on the Boltzmann equation. Firstly, we discreted the space using three-dimensional grid, and then, we initialized the speed and density of the grid. Secondly, we calculated the Local equilibrium distribution parameters of the grid. Thirdly, we updated the macro-velocity and the macro-density of the grid, and at the same time, we updated the velocity of the snow particle. At last, we rendered the snow in the wind field.4. Based on the above algorithm, we designed the snow scene system. We introduced the system framework of the snow scene system. And, we introduced the module partition of our snow scene system. Finally, we showed our results about the experiment and we give our analysis. The results showed that our algorithm can simulate the snow scene in truth and real-time.
