The graphics scenes with highly realistic rendering are required in Virtual reality technology. The 3-dimension visualizations of simulation results have been advanced with the combination of virtual reality and computer simulation, which is a new approach of displaying visualized simulation results. Traditionally, 2-dimension drawing is used to display the fluid flowing process in a pipeline system. Then the technology of 3-dimension visualization becomes a new tool with more detail to improve the virtualization effects of simulation results.In this paper, the current research of the virtualization fluid flowing process in a pipeline system has been discussed, and the development. And the application of the particle system is introduced. The visualization model of a fluid flowing in pipeline is extracted from the common visualization platform. The requirements of visualization and the particle system of the fluid flowing process in a pipeline are analyzed, and the construct of integral logic and the software architecture have been designed.The use-cases of visualization system of fluid flowing have been designed with the UML language, and have been specified in detail. A parameterized model of fluid flowing particle system has been established by the particle attributes and the model characteristics are defined in detail. The design of particle system is implemented by programming the classes of particle system, particle state and elementary particle.The design of visualization system of fluid flowing in pipeline has been realized with the simulation software of Vega. The GUI in LynX and the functional modules of Vega are developed; main interfaces are programmed; the graphic arithmetic of particle system has been accomplished using the technology of OpenGL; so as the function of OpenGL drawing is installed in Vega. An instance is also discussed in the paper.The feasibilities of 3-dimension visualization system have been verified with the designed particle system of the fluid flowing in pipeline.
