In daily life, irregular object is a special class of objects; they do not have the appearance of a fixed shape. Although people can easily identify such objects, but not always accurately give a uniform definition of these objects. Therefore, the simulation of irregular objects is a difficult and hot problem in computer graphics. However, the progress of the simulation of irregular objects is of great significance to the development of computer graphics and computer animation technology. At present, there have been a variety of irregular objects simulation technologies. And the particle system is a more successful method, so it is widespread concerned and researched.This paper uses particle system and OpenGL visualization technology for more representative irregular objects simulated a snowflake landing, basically do the following:For existing irregular objects simulation technology and presentation, the paper analyses the basic ideas of particle system and methods which are detailed and summarized, and Introduced the use of OpenGL for realizing visualization of some key technologies.Snow falls by gravity, the process of air and wind effect, so motion is very complicated. Based on the establishment of snow dynamics of the simplified motion model, then it puts forwards a simplified particle emitter and collision detection methods. And the wind made a similar model to simulate snow particles flying in the wind direction under the action of any nature, to ensure the simulation results based on the increased speed of operation.To make simulation results more realistic visual simulation of this effect as a starting point, the OpenGL technology based on the principle-based particle system construct the basic form of snow particles through the use of texture mapping, blending function and other technical methods .Given drawing, rendering scenes with snow dynamic simulation methods and steps realize the visualization of simulation results to improve the fidelity of simulation results to obtain the desired simulation.A virtual snow scenes special effects system and system framework is constructed through these algorithms and methods. The snow scenes special effects module division system is given, and a snow scene special effects system is designed and implemented. The system experimental results show the algorithm achieves a virtual snow scene to meet the real-time requirements of authenticity.
