After half a century of development, radio and television media have accumulated vast amounts of content resources, for example, the total storage of media content in J Broadcasting Corporation up to hundreds of thousands of hours, from black and white picture to color picture, from standard definition program to HD program, from the film medium to streaming tape. These resources are non-renewable and very scarce, and they are the core resources and the maximum capital of the broadcasting media. However, the media content of the domestic radio and television mostly focused on internal service, commercial development is still at initial stage. Therefore, the research on business development of media asset in our radio and television media has important practical significance and theoretical value.First of all, this paper describes the status of media asset management in J Broadcasting Corporation, including the storage of media content, the construction of media asset management system and so on, analysis the possible problems of the business development, including program rights management issues, channel competition of business development and so on. Secondly, sort out classification of the media content in J Broadcasting Corporation based on the video and audio value and the information value of media content from the view of business development, proposed the classification model of the value development of media content in J Broadcasting Corporation, and analysis the value of business development based on various types of media content. Most of the class I media assets are finished programs produced by J Broadcasting Corporation alone which are on the high level of video and audio value and information value. Class ? media assets are on the high level of copyright and have high value on business development. J Broadcasting Corporation can show precious media content to the public via an open network platform, develop the APP, educational products, travelling video and audio products based on GIS(Geographic Information System) which are depend on the finished program, provide appropriate video and audio products to online video sites, outdoor video, mobile TV, IPTV, interactive TV and other new media, provide personalized custom content services for professional users. Class ? media assets are mostly material content which are on the high level of video and audio value, while the lower level of information value. These scenes'value in use is extremely high and they can be used for the production of new programs. Class ? media assets are on the high level of information value, while the lower level of video and audio value. The copyright of such media content is on the lower level. The business development of Class ? media assets can focus on the information value. Finally, this paper analysis the profit model of various types of media asset depend on the basis of potential commercial value of media content in J Broadcasting Corporation, on the premise of media asset valuation, find the right way to provide value, target customers, potential revenue and cost structure.The result of this study is to explore the business development approach and profit model of media asset in domestic broadcasting media, in order to provide a reference for other media organizations.
