Nowadays,telecommunication industry has become the pillar industry of China.The transmission network is one of the most important infrastructures of telecommunication network which support all other business,so the operation quality of it directly influences the quality of other value-added network services of telecom companies.The researches of the safety of the optical transmission network mainly focused on the calculation of the transmission capacity and the analysis of the instability risks.According to the current situation of the provincial Synchronous Digital Hierarchy of Gansu Tietong,and the new province transmission network to be built,this paper studied the safety assessment method which in accordance with the characteristics of optical transmission network.Thus,all operations taking on this network can be serviced more safety,reliable and efficient.Based on the analysis on the current situation of SDH transmission network,this paper analyzed the factors which influence the transmission network from the following three aspects:the failure of the transmission medium,the failure of the transmission node and the enlarge of the network scale and equipment capacity.Furthermore,the concept of dividing the businesses on the network into different levels according to the various demands of all customers was put forward in this paper,which could improve the stability of the network and the safety of the transmission.All of these studies could provide the necessary technical support for the safety of the SDH transmission network of Gansu Tietong,and improve the service quality of the main network to other value-added businesses.
