When video and multimedia data services develops fast and application of information exchange needs, highly developed information society requires communicationnetwork to provide multi-dimensional, personalized telecommunications services. It marks the modern communications network, exchange, and handle to large capacity, high-speed, intelligent direction. As an important part of communication network, transmission system directly affects the communication network of the macro-development, traffic and transport properties and structure of the traditional network. Optical transmission network reliability, flexibility, and network transmission bandwidth, real-time supply the next generation of network technology. That has become a theme. Countries in the world develop the information highway, and the focus strategy is to build high-capacity fiber-optic transmission network. The traditional synchronous digital system by the quasi-(Plesiochronous Digital Hierachy, PDH) can not meet the demand for transmission capacity, as well as by regional standards and interconnection constraints, therefore, by SDH / WDM-based, a unified interface standard synchronous digital transmission mechanism (Synchronous Digital Hierachy, SDH) came into being.This paper is mainly around the SDH network protection technologies to start, including three substantive content of the practice of argumentation. First, for the type of comparative analysis of different SDH transmission mechanism of protection and performance, research and feasibility studies based on multiplex section protection (MSP) are done to achieve ring resistance in the SDH network in case of business self-healing. Second, through the transmission of network traffic characteristics and ring protection path algorithm analysis, network management system is proposed to determine OTNM2000 data cross paths with the production program. The program set up by the data transfer and device configuration management control bytes transmitted through the network structure. And in accordance with theoretical analysis and QoS protection, switching recovery time constraints are required to achieve effective protection of the business. Third, the actual transmission network through the practice of adjusting the structure and operation develops a practical exercise based on network maintenance emergency communications security programs, plans, and demonstrate emergency communications security programs.
