Contents of this thesis are developed on the project of CERNET backbone upgradation in the 3rd phase of the 211 program. To meet the needs of CERNET network management and security management, the thesis aims to design and implement a network operation management platform in Southeastern(North) Regional Network Center of CERNET.The major goal of the thesis is to implement a integration network operation management platform based on Cacti. The management of environment control equipment is added into the platform based the original systems. The list of all of devices in Southeastern(North) Regional Network Center of CERNET could be obtained because of topology discover program automatically.The environment control equipment refers to the temperature and humidity sensor in the thesis. The communication way between the background and sensors is UDP. After parsing the messages which are responded by sensors in regular format, the background program inserts the results into Mysql database. Then the web program reads these messages from database and check the status of sensors according to the configuration.There are two important parts in the devices list. One is a list of hosts and another is a list of network devices. The topology discover algorithm that combines SNMP with ARP is applied in the thesis after comparing several different topology discover algorithms. The background program can read MIB of hosts and switches with API of SNMP4j. And then the program parses MIB to obtain messages, such as IP address, MAC address and checks the status with the Unix time stamp. The background program is added into the timing task of Linux server and runs every five minutes automatically.The main task is function integration in the implementation of the platform. The uniform access is provided by the platform. The admin can access the NBOS system, the CHAIRS system and use the functions of environment control management and list management with the uniform access. Meanwhile, there are no needs for the users who have logged into the platform successfully to log again when they want to use other systems.
