Our main unit developed towards large capacity and high parameter, the thermal control system had the higher request, needed better automation control method improve the control effect. This paper analyzes the research status of model reference adaptive control, it can be seen, the model reference adaptive control has a big advantage, and which itself is still a great exploration of space. Therefore, the model reference adaptive control conduct in-depth research has important significance, it can be predicted, along with the deepening of the model reference adaptive control theory research and improvement, and its prospects are bright.On the basis of this paper introduces and analyzes the model reference adaptive control system of the first order on the study of model reference adaptive control second-constructed Lyapunov function and adaptive law, prove the stability of the system. The reference model is designed by pole assignment method to design the parameters of the transfer function according to the dynamic characteristics of the designer. Then the paper analyzed the thermal control system, and it focuses on the thermal control system of a typical second-order system, namely the drum boiler water system, using model reference adaptive control of the second-level control simulation experiment, and compared with traditional PID control. From the simulation curve can clearly see that, under the model reference adaptive control system response curve has better dynamic performance, even in the controlled object parameters change greatly, model reference adaptive control system is still running well, dynamic characteristic of the output curve with satisfactory properties.
