Study On Language Features Of Self-Made Variety Shows On Video Website

In recent years, the competition between Television variety shows has been growing fiercely. While the self-made variety shows on video websites have stood out and have won fame in popularity. The self-made variety shows have certain characteristics of traditional shows, but the network makes the production and representation of it so unique and special, especially in language. The thesis adopts textual analysis, making analysis and summary for the show "Let’s Talk", to summarize its language features. The thesis generalizes the development of self-made variety shows on video network, and then makes summary for television language symbol system and its effects in variety shows. To use the show "Let’s Talk" as example, analyze the show’s language features from sound language, writing language, picture language, etc. To analyze the reason for these language features, the thesis starts from media ecology, audiences, communication platform and channel, and producer. On this basis, the thesis shows that there exits language violence, excessive concern the topic "sex", and high frequency of non-sound phenomenon, etc. in self-made variety shows on video network.
