Research On Network-made Variety Shows In The Perspective Of Carnival Theory

The network-made variety show is based on the development of Internet technology.On the occasion of the traditional TV series,with its open network environment and flexible feedback,it quickly occupyed a place in people's entertainment life and becomes a stage for new generation of young people to relax,chase joy,express themselves.The atmosphere of universal participation created by it is in line with Bakhtin's carnival theory.This article introduces Bachkin's carnival theory into the research of online selfmade variety shows,and further reveals the carnival characteristics of the networkmade variety show.Firstly,the Bachkin's carnival theory and the network-made variety show are summarized.Secondly,the network-made variety show is introduced in detail,including its concept definition,program characteristics and its origin and development.Later,through some of the program cases represented by Tencent's video "PRODUCE 101",the analysis of the network-made variety show was placed in the Bakhtin carnival theory,and then the carnival features presented by the network-made variety show: the nationality and the ritual And subversive,at the same time,the analysis of the causes and significance of the "self-produced traits" of the network-made variety show,and finally reflected on the hidden problems under the lively scene of the network-made variety show.Through the combination of theory and phenomena,we can more clearly understand the origins between the network-made variety show and the carnival theory,and pay attention to "the stone of other mountains can be used to attack jade." This paper focuses on the analysis of the "PRODUCE 101" which is a S+-level networkmade variety show,trying to sort out and explore its context and characteristics from various aspects,hoping to see through the carnival theory the mystery of the overall online entertainment culture,thus giving other scholars relevant research with new ideas and inspiration.
