Cloud computing is an emerging business computing model, which uses virtualization technology to integrate computing, storage, and network resources into a virtual “resource pool”, user can apply for resources within the “resource pool” on demand. Resource monitoring in the cloud computing environment can provide guarantee for the availability and stability of the cloud computing platform, it also can provide reference informatin for the resource scheduling and load balancing.First of all, the thesis studies and researchs the overall architecture of the cloud computing, and understands the characteristics of resources in the cloud computing environment. It analyzes the current resource monitoring technologies in the cloud computing environment, and compares the characteristics of these technologies. The main problems of the resource monitoring includes: whether the monitoring data is real-time and accurate, whether the resource monitoring affects the performance of the cloud computing platform, cloud computing platform creates and removes virtual machines frequnently, how to make use of monitoring data to provide reference information for troubleshooting and resource scheduling.Then, the thesis analyses the above problems, and designs a large-scale resource monitoring and security assessment system in cloud computing environment. The system modifies Ganglia to monitor the server cluster which deploy the cloud computing platform, modifies Openstack Ceilometer module to monitor the virtual machine within the cloud computing platform, and writes a security assessment scripts to get the risk value of each machine based on the alarm threshold, log and Fuzzy Comprehensive Evalution Method.Finally, in order to verify the feasibility of the designed system, the thesis builds a cloud computing platform based on Openstack, deploys the resource monitoring and security assessment system in the cloud computing platfo rm. The test result of the system proves the function of the system, the accuracy, the performance and the user experience are all achieved the design goal. The System has achieved good resource monitoring and safety assessment results, has good practical value.
