Electrocardiogram(ECG) signal is one of the earliest human studies of biological signals and applications in clinical medicine, it reflects the excitement of the heart electrical activity, electrical activity in the heart of comprehensive reflection of the surface. Heart rate variability(Heart Rate Variability, HRV) refers to the adjacent cardiac cycle changes resulting difference is neurohumoral cardiovascular regulation system accurate results. HRV analysis of some predictions and treatment of heart diseases has important significance. This article describes how to implement in FPGA ECG heart rate variability analysis, combined with ECG acquisition chip finally realized locally detected HRV analysis. It can accurately detect the R wave of ECG signal characteristics, and analyze heart rate variation proposed abnormality diagnosis for some cases the disease early warning to reduce the incidence of cardiovascular disease and mortality.Firstly, we study the ECG heart rate variability analysis in recent years, domestic and international developments, and to analyze the significance of ECG heart rate variability. According to the current domestic demand for portable ECG patient ECG monitor further introduction of the FPGA as the implementation and verification platform, tools and methods to achieve given heart rate variability analysis, making the HRV analysis system can chip.Secondly, this paper introduces the characteristics of the ECG signal, and on this basis, given the five functional requirements HRV analysis system, including real-time, accuracy, multi-mode resistance, high speed and low power consumption. HRV analysis of system performance requirements, including time domain index, type of abnormal heart beat instantaneous heart rate and average heart rate. Depending on the functionality and performance requirements of the overall design and architecture of each module HRV analysis system implementation, including pre-treatment ECG signal, R wave feature extraction and HRV analysis module.Then, each module algorithm designed in modelsim software modules were carried out and the overall functional simulation. In the case of correct function, carry out the pin assignments and timing constraints, after the layout and generate the bit file to download into the FPGA chip systems engineering, the actual ECG signal observed test.Finally, FPGA, the highest frequency of the designed HRV analysis system can reach 53.949 MHz, power consumption is 0.8W. It can be seen less consumption of resources used herein chip designed HRV analysis system, with high accuracy, low power consumption and other characteristics.
