The Presentation And Discourse Analysis Of Female Characters In The Daily Crime Report

The crime news report is an important category of Legal News, which is important to the social order and stability, personal safety of life and property. It contributes to legal education, crime supervision and improving alert.Woman is a sensitive group in the crime report. The crime news about females is often relate to the stability of our family and society. When the news media entered into the market economy, the operation of commercialization resulted in the alienation of the news value. So a large number of news media trend to "Pan entertainment". In order to attract the audience's attention and reap the economic benefits, female characters were objectified as goods to meet the audience's desires and curiosity. In the crime report, the presentation of female characters was fulled of violence and sex. It was not only depart from the crime news values, but also distorted and solidified female characters. Meanwhile, crime report constructed female' discourse symbol by repeating and labeling, and then set up a new gender order, which affected the gender equality in our society.This study focused on the presentation and discourse analysis of female characters in the Daily crimes report, and investigated how the media could construct female characters, spread the rule of law and guide female culture through the crime report. This paper consisted of the introduction, revelation and other three important issues.The first part introduced the basic status of Metropolis crime report and female characters. First of all, this paper objectively described the important value of crime report, summarized the current status of Metropolis and analyzed the departing and digestion of the legal value under the commercialization orientation. Secondly, it introduced the particularity of the presentation of female characters in crime report, and then summarized the problems that female characters are materialized and commercialized by the current commercial profit.The second part analyzed the the presentation of female characters in crime report through the cases to prove the first part of the study. This paper selected the most representative Metropolis Daily in the North and South of China——Jinghua Times and Southern Metropolis Daily, as examples of content analysis, and added up the basic situation, basic ways and the features of the presentation of female characters in crime report. Then it summarized the basic characteristics of the female images constructed by media in the two newspaper crime news report. That were " highlighting commercial value while diluting legal value", "commercial production with the pornography and violence" and "female image for the one-sided and curing ".From the perspective of semiotics and sociology, the third part analyzed the feminine discourse symbol in crime report. Firstly, it drew Michel Foucault and Saussure's Discourse Theory to analyze the effect of the media in the female discourse construction. Secondly, according to the characteristics and the way of the presentation of female characters in media, the article discussed the "cowardice" "vilify" and "derogatory " during the construction of the female media discourse combined with feminist theory. Finally, this paper summarized the negative influences that the discourse brought to the cognition of female characters and the construction of gender order.The final part summarized the relevant research findings and inspiration. From the perspective of economy, law, society and culture, it gave further reflection about the problems in the crime report during the news media work, and gave some advice and suggestions.
