China has abundant water resources. To utilize these resources reasonably, China has built large numbers of hydropower stations, which make huge contributions to the economic development. However, the management of hydropower station is a complex systems engineering. The traditional simple control and management by manpower has become increasingly difficult to meet the requirements of the hydropower station's normal operation. To ensure the stability and reliability of the hydropower station's operation, information technology is needed to monitor and manage it automatically. This research subject, based on the requirements above, researches and develops the system software for the automatic monitoring of the electromechanical equipment of hydropower station, which provides a high-efficiency and stable network platform for the monitoring and management of electromechanical equipment of hydropower station.Based on the requirements of automatic monitoring of important electromechanical equipment in hydropower station, this subject uses.NET Framework, C/S structure and the data base management system SQL Server 2012 to develop the electromechanical equipment of hydropower station. In terms of the system function, based on the requirements of system function and the principle of maximizing modularization, the system is divided into the module of logging function, the module of real-time monitoring, the module of intelligent communication, the module of warning message and the module of dispatching data management. In terms of the characteristics of the system, this system has the characteristics of high security, high reliability and being real-time, making it better meet the requirements of automatic monitoring of the electromechanical equipment of hydropower station.This paper, based on the system development cycle, discusses the various works carried out at each stage during the process of system development. Firstly, the principle of overall system design is determined, the comprehensive evaluation and argumentation of the feasibility of system development is performed, and the requirements for system function are analyzed combined with the user's demands; Secondly, based on the system objective determined at the analysis stage of system requirements, detailed design of the overall system architecture and the functions of system module are conducted, and the data base, system hardware and system interface are designed; Thirdly, based on the design scheme of the system, software development tools are adopted to develop the system; Finally, advanced software-test method is employed to do rigorous test of the functions of the system. It is concluded after the test that the electromechanical equipment of hydropower station developed can perform remote monitoring and remote management of the electromechanical equipment of hydropower station, which provides high-efficiency and stable solutions for the dispatch and management of hydropower station, and also offers references for the design application of similar monitoring system of hydropower station.
