From the late 20 th century to now, with the rapid development of our country's economy and the progress of science and technology, Wireless Sensor Network(WSN) technology has been greatly developed and applied. Since the Wireless Sensor Network technology has the characteristics of low power consumption, self-organizing, robustness, large network capacity, and flexible application development, making up for the deficiency of high cost and hard to be maintained and upgraded of the traditional wired sensor networks, the Wireless Sensor Network was widely applied to such fields as military reconnaissance, medical applications, environmental monitoring, smart home, and modern agriculture. gateway plays a role of bridge in network convergence as a protocol conversion device between different networks. especially now Internet Plus has been promoted to the national strategy status in China, combination of Internet and traditional industries has become the sologan of the era. through the gateway device, the Wireless Sensor Network is connected to the Ethernet and then connected to the Internet, so as to realize the remote checking the working state of WSN and controling the nodes in the work.In view of the environmental monitoring and agricultural applications, this thesis presents a gateway solution to Wireless Sensor Network connected to Ethernet. designs a ZigBee WSN-Ethernet gateway system through the related hardware and software design. implements the remote displaying Wireless Sensor Network status, controling the work of the node, displaying the sensor data and other functions. this thesis also designs a automatic counting device for agricultural flying insects in agricultural application which achieve the automatic counting and reporting. the main work of this thesis are as follows:1. Research and analysis of the current several commonly used wireless communication method, combining with the actual application requirements, analysis and presents a Wireless Sensor Network based on ZigBee communication network, acquisition of environmental parameters.2. Analyze the current several commonly used WSN gateway solution, presents a ZigBee WSN-Ethernet gateway solution based on the Ethernet chip of W5100.3. Based on the given solution, completes the selection of hardware platform and the relevant design, completes all the software development which include the transplant of ZigBee protocol stack-Z-Stack and application layer software development of ZigBee and the development of W5100 driver, completes the design of the remote monitoring software and the design of gateway system software.4. Designs a automatic counting device for agricultural flying insects in agricultural application based on infrared sensor technology, completes all the hardware and software development.The ZigBee WSN-W5100 gateway system designed in this thesis meets all the desired requirements after various simulation tests.
