In recent years, with more information about many wireless communication productsfor data collecting and processing, etc, ZigBee as a new low-complexity, low-power andlow-cost short-range wireless communications protocol technology, is widely used inindustry, agriculture, medical and construction fields. However, with the development ofZigBee technology, intersect and integration between a variety of new models and newtechnology, people more and more need to extend the network function for remote controland transmission of ZigBee wireless sensor network data. Therefore, the design of agateway to meet these needs, and to achieve interoperability of ZigBee network and theInternet has become one of the problems to be solved urgently.This paper analyses the existing sensor network data teletransmission technology andZigBee network transmission characteristics, putting forward a gateway design methodand implementation especially that a kind of short-range wireless networking equipmentdata can be acceded into the Internet and realized remote transmission. By comparing theexisting technical scheme and the analysis of the functional requirements of the gateway, abetter performance hardware and software architecture of gateway is designed. On thehardware, based on ARM processor which as the core of hardware platform, STM32W forthe integrated chip and on-chip ZigBee RF module core processor, combined withcontrolling W5300Ethernet chip, the hardware structures, design of ZigBee sensormodule and the Ethernet driver part are completed. At the same time, for achieving thecompatibility with various interface types of equipment access to Internet, the variousperipheral interfaces are expanded. The design of the relevant modules software iscompleted on the basis of the hardware modules, with having ensured the efficiency ofdata transmission and conversion through by increasing the SOCKET utilization ofW5300. Finally, the testing and validation for data remote transmission by gateway arecompleted through the link testings and the PC software using. The results show thatthrough the Ethernet/ZigBee gateway, users do not need to actually access to each ofsensor node in the network but can realize data collection of any node. The design andimplementation of the gateway have important significance value in theory research andpractical application.
