Research On Doctor-Patient-Relationship Reports In The Perspective Of Health Communication

In the March of 2014, the government first introduced ‘building a harmonious doctor-patient-relationship' into an official report. In the meanwhile, when President Xi Jinping investigated Zhenjiang City in Jiangsu Province in December, he indicated that there would not be overall moderate and prosperous, without the health of all citizens. This points out the important relationship between achieving the ‘Chinese Dream' and insuring the basic rights of residents' health. Health right is the fundamental right of human beings. As the medical system concerns with each person and each family, the healthy development of medical industry would be the basis of insuring citizens' health right. Doctor- patient relationship is the key to medical actions and relations. Therefore, a harmonious doctor-patient-relationship can contribute to improving the medical industry, to maintaining the public health right, to stabilizing society's harmony and to fulfilling the ‘Chinese Dream'. In recent years, massive media has reported on doctor-patient-relationship and medical disputes, which largely affects the realistic relationship between doctors and patients in society.With the purpose of health communication, the research chose Sina medium as the subject to study the characteristics of network media's report on doctor-patient-relationship. This paper is based on the analysis of ‘Sina's doctor-patient-relationship report of 2015' and it aims to discover the effect on doctors and patients. The final purpose is to find out the problems in associated network media reports and to figure out the solutions.The paper mainly consists of five parts and it starts with the introduction. It introduces the theory of health communication and the situation of current study. At the same time, it defined the doctor-patient relationship and surmises the research method. Then the paper goes into the second part-Chapter One, which is about the worldwide report on doctor- patient relationship in China. Besides, the first chapter analyzed Sina's specific report on doctor-patient-relationship, which focuses on the analysis of publication number, publication stories, publication topics. The third part is Chapter Two and it demonstrates the main characteristics of Sina medium's doctor-patient-relationship reports. The natures include publication content, broadcast tips and topic setting. Followed by Chapter Three, the forth part identified the causes and problems in current doctor-patient-relationship report, which is based on the analysis of status and characteristics. The final part analyzed the problems of network media reports and it came up with some strategies.Doctor-patient-relationship is a typical topic in health communication field and mass media has paid extensive attention to it. Dealing with doctor-patient-relationship report properly(especially reports on medical dispute) can be beneficial to release the tension between doctors and patients. In addition, good press can rebuild society status of doctors and the trust between patients and doctors. However, inaccurate report and improper action may lead to tense relations, which can be detrimental to the medical industry. Therefore, mass media should bear the society responsibility for their report on doctor-patient-relationship and they must leading the right way to broadcasting positive attitude.
