Design And Implementation Of A Management System For Teaching Calendar

China is vigorously promoting the construction of informatization. The “Decade Development Plan of Education Informatization(2011-2020)”, issued by State Ministry of Education, clearly states that we should integrate information resources and promote the modernization of education management. Huazhong University of Science and Technology always attaches importance to the construction of informatization,proposesing to improve the levels of management and service and provides scientific support for academic development. The management system for teaching calendar aims to improve the controllability and scientificity of teaching management.Teaching calendar management system utilizes the B/S model to control the teaching process, and selects Net framework and SQL2008 as its development environment. Based on standardized software development process, comparative analysis of domestic and international situation, thorough knowledge of related technologies, we have conducted a scientific and comprehensive demand analysis. After thorough research and discussion, the system is divided into five parts: administrator management module, statistical analysis module, system configuration module, course management module, teacher management module. We have detailed designed each module, including interface design, statistical analysis function design such as workload, the ratio of teach/research and the ratio of teacher/student etc., database design, and system configuration design such as course schedule management, teacher management, the bulk import and export of data and operating records etc.. We have also optimized the function of statistical analysis. For example, statistics can be visualized through graphs and animation, and then be exported, which provides a reliable basis for decisions in teaching management.The system realizes the scientific control of teaching process through management, statistics and analysis of information, such as curriculum and teacher. In the meanwhile, this system also provides a reliable support for optimizing curriculums, improving the organization of teachers, scientifically analyzing one teacher's workloadetc.
