Picture Archiving and Communication System(PACS) is an important part of information network system in hospital. With the development of computer technology and Internet application, a PACS system is facing greater demand and challenges in medical information construction. In solving some remote medical problems such as regional medical, remote consultation and development of medical institutions, users want to visit the PACS system for image data through a Web browser, so developing a Web-PACS system is an effective solution.In this paper, I propose the Medical Image Transmission and Display System Based on Web. This system adds a WADO service gateway between the existing PACS DICOM server and the Web browser client to design a WADO image server and a Web front-end system for medical imaging diagnosis.My major work consist of:the study of information object, service model and WADO protocol in version 3.0 of DICOM Standard;the technical standards and basic components of the system;the architecture of Web-PACS system in Microsoft.NET Framework 4.0, composed of the UI layer, service layer, data layer and physical layer in all; I have completed the image server based on WADO in service layer and the Web-Viewer system for medical imaging diagnosis based on HTML5 in UI layer.ASP.NET MVC4 framework is applied to the image server based on WADO contributed to loose-coupling and maintainability of the service application, the major feature of the image server is querying the database and retrieving the medical data in right request type to the Web-Viewer using DICOM standard services; Web HTML5+CSS+JavaScript is used in the Web-Viewer system to make good UI features and convenient user experience, the Web-Viewer system is used to set thelayout?load the image data?save the image data and operate the image, including remote synchronous communion?zoom tool?pan tool?rotate tool?window level tool?breast diagnostic web-workstation and etc.The Medical Image Transmission and Display System Based on Web is deployed in the Microsoft IIS server to transmit DICOM medical image data for the users and provide medical image browsing, image post-processing, etc. After the performance test of Multi users concurrent under the environment of a certain network bandwidth, this System is proved to be a solution of Web-PACS system for WADO standard with good experience and performance features.
