Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) is a information system that canstore, transmit and retrieve a variety of images and related information checked out by imagingequipments (such as X-ray, CT, the MR, etc.) through network. With the rapid development andpopularization of network technology, the achievement of communication with PACS systemthrough medical imaging browser and the display of PACS images and related information onmedical imaging browser is required in order to achieve quick access to DICOM persistentobjects.To solve the problem that how medical image browser interacts with server-side, this paperuses the message-based, service-oriented open-source of PACS system such as DCM4CHEE,with focus on the content and composition of the DICOM3.0standard which is related toDCM4CHEE system, analyzed the format of DICOM file and WADO standard protocol, studiedthe system structure of PACS and the system architecture of DCM4CHEE and achieved theinterface options of medical image browser. This paper uses the DCM4CHEE system, takesMYSQL as DICOM database and JBOSS as application server to set up the experiment of PACSsystem.The development environment of this paper is MyEclipse, and chooses TOMCAT+APACHE as container on the WEB server side, and adopts the design pattern that follows theJ2EE MVC specification to build Web application framework, and at the same time, with thecombination of JSP, JavaScript, Java and other web development technologies and thecombination of technologies such as Ajax, dwr, to achieve the development of medical imagebrowser. Mainly through the WADO standard agreement to achieve client’s medical image dataretrieval of server-side, selective display of multiple medical imaging, the DICOM information display of a certain image, the display with the asynchronous transfer download of a largenumber of images, the basic processing functions such as image translation, rotation, flip, zoomand window width and window level adjustment.As an important part of the DICOM standard, WADO standard agreement provides a newapproach for the implementation and research of Web PACS, and at the same time, has a greatsignificance for the future development of Web PACS.
