In recent years, with the development of the economy, science and technology, the area of crane security industry has become a fundamental problem of many large-scale industrial in process of production, the safe operation of hoisting machinery not only affect the interests of related businesses and industry community, but also the safety of construction workers. Lack of security measures will not achieve the expected efficiency, or even cause huge personnel casualties and property losses. Therefore, the study on the large crane safety monitoring system is imperative. In this thesis, gantry cranes as the main object, used Samsung S3C2440 A processor to develop the design of a crane operation safety monitoring system. According to the system, the information of video surveillance and related crane running signal can be transmitted to the cab and nearby central control room, which can not only facilitate the real-time observation of working situation, and also facilitate central control room staff to keep track of, more efficient for sudden response.According to comparative analysis of security monitoring system development in related field, and based on actual work conditions, the parameters of gantry crane operation safety monitoring system can be read from the field PLC(programmable logic controller) controller, several special monitoring parameters can be directly get from the field sensor such as a video signal. The information in central control room can get from high-power wireless bridge device transmitted from crane, and stored into the hard disk of DVR recorder, in order to keep track of work-related records. The thesis use Samsung S3C2440 A industrial core processor as the system controller, then design hardware circuit of monitor system, which realize data collection, transmission and processing. And on this basis, developed crane monitoring system monitoring software based on VC ++, which can fulfill monitoring data reading, display and recording, and other related functions. Finally, through the test of PLC data transmission, encoder signal output and monitoring system software, system design features made further verification.This thesis describes the process of crane safety monitoring system hardware design and software design, through the hardware design for the system to build a stable operating platform, which provides a guarantee for the joint commissioning of the system. In addition, according to debugging of hardware platform and monitoring software, which were further improved to make it basically realized the monitoring requirements of the system.
