Study On The Competency Model For Chinese Table Tennis Referee

The more and more international competitions appeared in recent years,the referee work is the key point to successfully hold all kinds of competitions.So,there is a big challenge need to face for referee work.For better to satisfy the need of table tennis sports competition,accelerate the process of top referee level training,for table tennis referee's quality more strict requirements are put forward.So,this study devote to build our country's competency model of Chinese table tennis referees,for table tennis referee provides some references for the selection,training,and scientific evaluation.This study use our country's competency model of table tennis referees as the research object.First,by means of the basis of literature review and Critical Incidents Technique,the paper picked the theoretical structure of competence characteristics and its dimensions of Chinese table tennis referees.In this foundation,it also established the competence measurement questionnaire.Secondly,using exploratory factor analysis and confirmatory factor analysis further inspection of referees in competency model of Chinese table tennis referees.The study show that,the competency model of Chinese table tennis referees consists of four dimensions and 19 competency Characteristics,this four dimensions are operation ability,physical and psychological quality,professional knowledge and relationship respectively,the operation ability including event organization and management ability,reacting ability,referee experience,judge ability,study ability;Physical and psychological quality including will quality,emotional stability,the reaction of thinking quality,achievement motivation and physical quality;professional knowledge including table tennis competition rules,draw and choreography knowledge,expertise and English;Relationship including ability to communicate,respect to others,unity and cooperation,fairness and professionalism;Exploratory factor analysis and confirmatory factor analysis results and the questionnaire compiled theory structure is almost match,this research suggest the China's table tennis referee competence characteristics model is much reliable and stable,and this model can properly summary table tennis referee competence characteristics of our country.
