Classical Chinese teaching is an important way for students to inherit national culture,cultivate national spirit and improve humanistic quality.To develop students' ability to read and briefly interpret classical Chinese is not only the requirement of the Chinese New Curriculum Standard but also the basic task of Classical Chinese teaching.Since students start to learn classical Chinese systematically in Junior school,Classical Chinese teaching in junior school has played a fundamental role in Chinese teaching.However,with the rapid development of society today,Classical Chinese teaching is now faced with new challenges.With the pace of the reform of basic education,classical Chinese teaching has made great progress,but teachers and students are still stuck in the heavy burden of teaching and learning.There are many problems in the current learning and teaching situation.For example,students learn passively while teachers teach inefficiently without effective approaches;teaching becomes a waste of time and energy and the teaching efficiency is far apart from the requirement of the New Curriculum Standard.Under such circumstances,with the help of some teaching cases,this paper discusses the strategies on Classical Chinese teaching in junior high school and also puts forward some practical and scientific teaching strategies based on the teaching objectives,teaching subjects,teaching content and ways of evaluation in the New Curriculum Standard.In this paper,there are total four chapters.The first chapter elaborates the purpose,significance and the main content of the research on the teaching strategies of classical Chinese in junior school.The second chapter explains the teaching requirements of the New Curriculum Standard on classical Chinese teaching in junior school,including classical Chinese teaching objectives,teaching content,teaching evaluation.It serves to provide evidence for the study of strategies on classical Chinese teaching.The third chapter mainly analyzes the existing problems and reasons of classical Chinese teaching.First,based on a survey about the current teaching situation,it analyzes the crux of classical Chinese teaching which is inefficient and time consuming.Second,it searches for reasons for these current situation from the perspectives of both students and teachers.This chapter lays the foundation of the study on the strategies on classical Chinese teaching.The fourth chapter puts forward some practical teaching strategies on classical Chinese teaching in junior school.First,in the light of teaching practice,it elaborates how teachers can construct positiverelationship with students and leads students to learn classical Chinese perceptually in the context of a free and democratic dialogue with teachers.Second,this chapter also gives teachers advice on how to build a classical Chinese reading situation with modern information technology,encouraging students to learn classical Chinese in an independent way and how to break the stereotype,make the lessons more novel and exciting and help students digest the teaching content more efficiently.Third,it concentrates on how to combine classical classroom learning and extracurricular activities to improve the students' ability in using classical Chinese in the comprehensive activities.Finally,how to resolve the conflicts between classical Chinese teaching and the system of evaluation and examination and thus how to enhance classical teaching with evaluation and examination as a means but not an end.
