Primary school education is an important part of nine-year compulsory education.People's Republic of China Education Committee in 1998 launched the "nine year compulsory education full-time primary school writing teaching guidelines(Trial)",which mentioned that the students should have an important basic skill in Chinese.As an important part of Chinese teaching in primary school,writing teaching can play an important role for students' learning and future work once it is well done.As an important part of the national basic education,nine-year compulsory education directly influences the quality of school education and teaching from the teaching purpose,teaching principles to the development and implementation of the curriculum standards.In recent years,craze for ancient Chinese literature has grown up in the worldwide.Calligraphy,as the wisdom of the Chinese nation,is an important part of ancient Chinese literature,which is consistent with Chinese culture and has a profound cultural connotation.Calligraphy education,as an important part of ancient Chinese literature education,naturally attracts more and more people's eyes.In recent years,due to more attention paid to Chinese traditional culture and Chinese calligraphy,investigation and research are carried out on the current status of calligraphy education in Liaoning primary school,which try to provide effective theoretical guidance and intellectual support for the calligraphy education in primary school.Theoretically,through the research on background and significance of primary school calligraphy education,relevant theory of calligraphy education and calligraphy education in primary school,and educational function,educational content,educational elements of calligraphy education,the paper makes a deep discussion about calligraphy and calligraphy education concept.Based on the actual situation of Dongfanghong primary school in Tieling city,through questionnaire investigation and case interview methods to give a thorough investigation on the present situation of primary school calligraphy education in Tieling,the author found many problems,for example,the calligraphy education curriculum is “nominal”,its contents are not systematic and teaching materials are lack of specialty.Meanwhile,the author put forwards countermeasures from the curriculum,teaching materials,teachers and teaching environment so as to improve the quality of calligraphy teaching in primary school,which points out the direction for calligraphy teaching activities.It has a great practical significance on building a theoretical system to improve educational quality of calligraphy in primary school.At the same time,the paper also points out the inadequacies of this study,and puts forward the outlook for future research.
