As the saying goes, “Interest is the best teacher.” For cultivating student's learning interest, teacher must understand the students first. In the process of understanding students, understanding the characteristics of psychological development is the foundation and the key to stimulate students' interest in learning history.Firstly, by reading the relevant literature, the author analyzes current related research, concept identification and basic theory of the students' learning interest based on the characteristics of students' psychological development. Secondly, the author states the relevant characteristics of the psychological development of high school students and the influence of it on cultivating students' learning interest. And making a brief analysis of the role of interest and the characteristics of high school students' interest in the development of learning history, from the perspective of students' learning interest after understanding the characteristics of high school students' psychological development. In addition, by applying the instruments of questionnaires,the author analyze the current situation of high school students' interest in history learning and the reasons why students are not interested in learning history. The reasons are mainly about teachers and students factors which teachers can change, so that it can provide some measures to improving teachers' teaching. Again, the author gives the classroom records of stimulating students' learning interest, and discuss how history teachers stimulate students' interest in classroom from the perspective of psychological development characteristics of high school students, and sums up the specific measures.Finally, from the perspective of teachers' factors, the author put forward some suggestions on how to in the choice of teaching measures in the high school history teaching for peer teachers of teaching. First, teachers should pay attention to the needs of the students. Second, take the teaching measures that conform to the characteristics of students' psychological development; third, establish a good relationship between teachers and students to promote the implementation of teaching measures. Fourth, the flexible use of teaching methods to cultivate students' historical thinking ability and correct learning methods. Respecting students' psychological developmentcharacteristics of teaching which the history teachers should strive to achieve the realm.
