Chinese character teaching is one of the key points in the subject of teaching Chinese to speakers of other languages for a long time,Not only because the character holds the Chinese spiritual civilization in the thousands of years,but also because it embodies the great wisdom from Chinese ancients in the process of making characters.However,learning Chinese characters has become a difficult point to the learners because of the complexity of Chinese character,and the learning effect is not as effective as other skills learning effect.Besides,in the process of teaching and learning,many teachers and learners focus on the combination of sounds and meaning,while ignoring the combination of structure and meaning.Therefore,many learners lose their interest in the structure of Chinese character,and lack of enthusiasm to learn Chinese character even give rise to the resistant of learning.Moreover,the mainstream teaching method is teaching by strokes.This method simply puts emphasis on the form and structure of Chinese character to help learners in writing the pattern,but ignores the motivation of Chinese character and combination of structure and meaning.Hence,it cannot improve the learners memorization ability effectively.Therefore,a new method appears which bases on the the motivation of character.As a new method,the theoretical knowledge is more than the practical research,the data is still insufficiency.The article bases on the motivation of Chinese characters,classifying the characters of level A from the National Syllabus of Graded Words and Characters for Chinese Proficiency according to the character structure and part of speech.In this essay,I pick up a group of typical characters to make a instructional design which contains Experiential Teaching and Game Teaching Method,making learners become the subject of class and immerse in the Chinese traditional culture atmosphere while learning,to achieve the teaching aim that will enhance learners to memorize Chinese characters and learn writing skills.After the implement of the instructional design and making a summary of the feedbacks while teaching.I will analyze the deficiency and try to revise it while trying to solve the problems existing in Chinese character teaching in teaching Chinese to speakers of other languages,and supply the material for further research in this field.
