In today's world,since international communication is becoming more and more frequent and China's international status is improved constantly,conference interpreting has served as a bridge for China's communication with foreign countries in such areas as politics,economy,culture and the like.And the interpreting of the speeches delivered at the 2016 Hangzhou Computing Conference in particular plays a decisive role in China's foreign exchanges.The interpreting quality of such speeches will directly affect the image of China in the world and foreign countries' understanding of China's real thoughts.To interpret the contents of the conference faithfully is an important guarantee for making sure that the conference can go well and achieve the desired effect.And the research and analysis to this kind of interpreting practice is extremely important as well.This report on the interpretation practice,under the guidance of Skopos Theory and based on the simulated interpretation of the speech delivered by Jack Ma at the 2016 Hangzhou Computing Conference,expounds some notable problems that occurred in certain interpreting process,points out the linguistic features of the original text about such speeches,discusses how the interpreting activity should be dealt with at the level of word,sentence and text under the guidance of Skopos Theory,and summarizes the strategies and methods involved.Finally,it is hoped that this practice report will provide reference and inspiration for such interpreting activities,improve the interpreting quality,and contribute to the teaching of interpreting and the promotion of Sino-foreign exchanges in politics,economy and culture.
