| At the beginning of 2020,a large-scale outbreak of COVID-19 occurred in China and abroad,causing a huge panic at the global level and doing irreversible harm to the global economy.Nowadays,the trend of global economic integration is obvious,and the outbreak of the novel coronavirus has caused a huge impact on Chinese traditional marketing model,but also giving birth to many new industries and forcing enterprises to carry out digital transformation.This interpretation is based on the practice during special period in the first half of 2020.This report mainly consists of five parts:the first part is the task description of this interpretation practice,mainly including the background of the video conference,the introduction of clients and participants,the description of the interpretation process,and the features and challenges of video conference interpretation;the second part is the preparation for the task,such as interpretation-theme preparation,the application of visual materials,term preparation,knowledge of clients and equipment preparation;the third part focuses on the theoretical overview of Skopos Theory;the fourth part is the application of Skopos Theory in video conference interpreting,which includes analysis of successful cases which focuses on the interpreter’s choice of interpreting strategies for video conference interpreting under the guidance of Skopos Theory,as well as the difficulties encountered by the interpreter in the interpreting process and the corresponding solutions;the fifth part mainly discusses the interpreter’s experience gained from this video conference interpretation,and puts forward relevant suggestions for future video conference interpreters.This practical report focuses on highlighting the guiding significance of the Skopos Theory to the video conference interpreting,solving problems encountered in the interpretation process,which will assist other interpreters in their interpretation of video conferencing. |
