| Interpreting has been a common part of the inter-cultural communication.Simultaneous interpreting(in short,SI)has been widely used in international conferences due to its high efficiency.How to improve the quality of SI is a meaningful study.The key of interpreting is to convey the meaning.In particular,in SI,how to convey the message accurately is even more essential.Therefore,interpretive theory is suitable to guide the practice of SI.This case study based on one simultaneous interpretingpractice,which was the interpretation of a speech about the U.S.political system.The interpretive theory was utilized to analyze the practice.The focus was on the study of the strategies of reformulation in terms of the interpretive theory.The strategies of reformulation are summarized as follows:logical analysis,information addition,information deletion and adjustment.Logical analysis is the basic step of reformulation,which is the precondition of information transmitting.Addition in interpreting is used when necessary.Deletion is used in order to make the interpretation appropriate.The orders of some sentences in the source language of English here are rearranged according to the linguistic habits of the target language-Chinese.This report consists of four chapters.The first chapter is the analysis of the background and the materials of this task of interpreting.Chapter two is the specific description of the progress of the task.Chapter three is the main part of this report,which is the elaboration of the interpretive theory.Chapter four presents the analysis of shortcomings and some suggestions. |
