A Report On The Simulated Simultaneous Interpreting Of The 2018 International Tourism And Development Seminar From The Perspective Of Interpretive Theory

This report is based on a simulated conference interpreting practice of the 2018 International Tourism and Development Seminar.Simultaneous interpreting was adopted for this simulated conference.Simultaneous interpreting has become a popular conference interpreting method applied in most international conferences around the world.Its biggest feature is the high efficiency.Meanwhile,simultaneous interpreting has high demands for interpreters,and multiple tasks need to be conducted at the same time.Therefore,this interpreting task has great significance of practice.The interpretive theory is theoretical guidance for this interpreting task.With the three levels of lexical,sentence and discourse,also the triangle model of interpretive theory,relevant interpreting strategies are applied in the interpreting process.This interpreter report consists of two parts.The first part is the original and interpreted text of the simulated conference.The second part is the interpreting report.In the second part,the description of interpreting task introduces the background and significance of the interpreting materials.The interpreting process describes the preparation of the interpreting task,the implementation process and post-interpreting issues.The part of case analysis mainly introduces the interpretive theory,analyzes the interpreting strategies that are applied in the interpreting process by specific cases.In terms of interpreting quality evaluation,the quantity and types of error that appeared in the interpreting process are collected and analyzed.The last one is the summary of this report,including the experience learned from the interpreting task,existing problems,and outlook for future study and work.
