After finishing the first year of graduate study,the author got the opportunity to be the simultaneous interpreter for the promotion conference of "the 8th Dunhuang Tour--the Silk Road International Tourism Festival".This festival is a brand activity of Gansu Province,so many important guests,famous tourist organizations and traveling agensies were attracted.This means higher requirement for the interpreter.This report is written on the basis of the simultaneous interpreting of this conference.The Interpretive Theory originated from France in the late 1960s,and its core characters are Seleskovitch and Lederer.Interpretive Theory holds that interpreters go through three stages successively or simultaneously:understanding,leaving the original language and re-expressing.In interpreting,the interpreter should not be restricted by the original language,use the target language to re-express the language.According to this theory,the core of interpreting is meaning.In the process of simultaneous interpreting with text,the interpreter should have some time to understand the original text and take off the shell of the language to improve the quality of interpreting.Therefore,it is practical to use this theory to guide simultaneous interpreting.In this interpreting,the speaker gave the text to the author before hand,but the host finished his task without any text.So it’s not easy for the author to finish this task perfectly.During the interpreting,there existed some mistakes and inappropriate parts.According to the difference of these mistakes,the author provides corresponding tactics from the perspective of the interpretive theory to improve its quality.Through this activity,the author had a better understanding of the simultaneous interpreting with text.The author hopes by writing this report,she could summarize and discover problems,and do better in the future.
