A Simulation Practice Report On E-C SI Of Fox-penner’s Lecture Smart Power And The Future Of Electric Utilities

With the coming of 21 st century,climate problem has become more and more severer and the environment of the whole world continued to pour pressure on energy and resources.As one of the most important infrastructure industry of the country,electricity has become the main force of energy structure revolution and energy saving.Aiming at this trend,communications about the power system among countries has become more frequent,so the demand for competent interpreters of this area will become higher and higher.The speech of the 4th Korea Smart Grid Week is chosen as the practice material,which was delivered by the chief of the Brattle Group.The author made simulation of simultaneous interpretation for this speech and converted the process into textual form,and then the author made a detailed analysis and reflection about problems in this practice such as misinterpretation,redundancy,and information loss.Simulated SI is a kind of self-training method for interpreters,through simulated every factor of the real environment,the interpreter can have a full understanding of his or her reaction and interpreting process and thus make justifiable evaluation of his or her behaviors.After that,some corresponding solutions for these problems are given,hoping to improve the author’s interpreting skills,and communication skills in future work as an interpreter.This practice report may provide implications and experiences for other similar types of tasks in the future.
