A Practice Report On The Simulated Simultaneous Interpretation Of Samsung’ S New Products Conference In 2017 MWC

With the fast development of science and technology,there is a growing demand for the interpretation of scientific and technological products,internal and ’external communication is further strengthening.The practice oin simulated interpretation in this paper is based on 2017 MWC Samsung new products release conference as the material and there are six speakers who take turns to speak at a fast pace,mainly introducing new products such as Tab S3,Galaxy Book and S Pen,which lasts about 43 minutes.The practice on simulated interpretation in this paper analyzes the inteipretation of the speeches delivered by six speakers in the release conference to discuss common difficulties of English to Chinese simulated simultaneous interpretation as well as possible coping solutions.This paper consists of four parts,which are task description,task process,case study and practice summery.The fist chapter mainly describes the reason,background and the characteristics of the task.The second chapter of task process includes pre-interpreting preparation and some problems encountered in the interpretation stage.The third chapter is interpretation theory and case study.This report is on the basis of the interpretive theory,Gile’s Interpretation Comprehension Equation and Effort Models.The interpretation methods "punctuation,transposition,omission and generalization" are used in this practice,but other problems also occur such as "misinterpretation,omission" and so on.One major reason of these problems is short of knowledge of all kinds of aspects and the pre-interpreting preparation is not enough,which result in some misinterpretations and omissions.Another reason is that the interpretive theory is not fully used,the translation is too restricted to word-to-word and sentence-to-sentence without breaking away from the language shell of the source language.The last chapter is the practice summery and self-examination.Through this practice,the author realizes the importance of pre-interpreting preparation and some inteipreting skills in simulated simultaneous interpretation.And a good interpreter must master well both of the two languages,try to stay a calm mood if there are some errors occurring during the practice process.What’s more,it is really important to make full preparations ahead of the interpreting practice.At the same time,the interpreter should be familiar with those prepared terms,which can help interpreter to save much time to rethink the whole sentence.
