A Practice Report On Simulated Simultaneous Interpreting Of 2017 IFA Philips New Products Launch

The upgrading speed of consumer electronic technology products needs a higher requirement on the propagation speed of products.Therefore,as the best way to publicize,the consumer electronics press conference is particularly important.The corpus selected for the simulated simultaneous interpretation practice is 2017 IFA Philips New Product Launch.It is a technical interpretation which has both the specialty and difficulty in professional terminology,nominalization and complex long sentences.This practice report focuses on the particularity and difficulty in simultaneous interpretation,selects specific cases from corpus and analyzes them.This report also proposes specific countermeasures under the guidance of Interpretive Theory:Firstly,when dealing with long sentences,interpreters could adopt the Syntactic Linearity Strategy and the Simplification Principle,and simplifies long sentences by splitting,summarizing and reorganizing information.Secondly,when dealing with the nominalization,the Word Transformation Technique is used to transform the noun into verbs and other parts of speech,so as to keep the meaning and make the translation conform to the language norms of the target language.In addition,in view of insufficient pre-translation preparation and other reasons,there are still errors such as omission and misinterpretation.In view of those problems,the reasons are analyzed with examples and improvement methods are put forward to avoid similar errors in future work.The purpose of this practice report is to further verify the rationality of the interpreting strategies and techniques used in this report and accumulate some experience.In the same type of simultaneous interpretation of consumer electronic technology products press conference,interpreters can use those methods of this report to improve simultaneous interpreting quality.
