Objective: To understand the current situation of health literacy among Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps residents,and to provide scientific basis for developing intervention strategy.Methods: Using multi-stage stratified random cluster sampling,18000 residents aged 15-69 years old from Xinjiang Production And Construction Corps investigated with the questionnaire of health literacy.Results: The overall level of adjusted health literacy(AHL)among the Xinjiang Production And Construction Corps residents was 9.6%.The AHL rates in the 3 health-literacy-related aspects as Basic health concept and knowledge,healthy life style and behaviors,and health related skills were22.3%,15.1%and 29.7%,respectively.The AHL rates of 6 health issues as attitude to wards health,infectious diseases prevention,healthy life style behaviors,Safety and first aid,Basic medical care,and health manage Among the Xinjiang Production And Construction Corps Residents were 36.5%,48.4%,26.2%,72.2%,9.6%and11.3%,respectively.More than 55 years old people the overall AHL rate and the AHL rates in the 3 health-literacy-related aspects were all lower than others.the overall AHL rate and the AHL rates in the 3 health-literacy-related aspects were all higher among the civil servant and others.The higher the education level of the respondents,the higher the proportion of AHL.Conclusion: The basic health literacy among Xinjiang Production And Construction Corps residents is low.The AHL Rates are different among the residents in different areas and with different genders,ages,career and education level,respectively. |
