Objective Observing the cough VAS score,TCM syndrome score, liver and kidney function and other index of children with upper airway cough syndrome(wind phlegm and stangnant heat syndrome)before and after treatment, and recurrence after treatment for four weeks.Evaluating the clinical efficacy and safety of Tongbi Zhike decoction in the treatment of children's upper airway cough syndrome(wind phlegm and stangnant heat syndrome). To provide a reliable basis for clinical popularization and use of Tongbi Zhike decoction in the treatment of children's upper airway cough syndrome(wind phlegm and stangnant heat syndrome). Methods The children of the Department of Pediatrics and otolaryngology in Hubei Provincial Hospital of TCM(Huayuanshan branch,Guanggu branch and Fenghuang department)who were diagnosed as upper airway cough syndrome(wind phlegm and stangnant heat syndrome).60 cases were selected.Randomly divided into the control group and the treatment group,30 cases each,Treatment group was treated with Tongbi Zhike oral traditional Chinese medicine granules orally, the control group for the cause of physiological seawater, nasal corticosteroids, antihistamines, nasal decongestants and other symptomatic treatment,1 weeks for 1 courses,to evaluate the safety and efficacy of continuous treatment of 2 courses.Results(1)in the control group,4 cases were clinically controlled,10 cases were markedly effective,12 cases were improved,4 cases were invalid, the effective rate was 86.67%,the treatment group was 6 cases, effective 14 cases, improved 8 cases, ineffective 2 cases, the effective rate was 93.33%.There was significant difference between two groups, the treatment group in treatment of children with upper airway cough syndrome(wind phlegm and stangnant heat syndrome)curative effect is better than that of control group;(2)the control group after treatment, after treatment of cough, expectoration, throat, throat, nasal congestion, runny nose, nasal itching, dry mouth, red throat and pharyngeal secretion syndrome score lower than before treatment, the difference was statistically significant, the treatment of control group can significantly improve the children with cough, sputum and other symptoms;pharyngeal follicle syndrome integral after treatment than before treatment increased slightly, there was no significant difference in the control group, treatment of upper airway cough syndrome in children with posterior pharyngeal wall follicular had no obvious improvement;(3)the treatment group before and after treatment, after treatment of cough, expectoration, throat, throat, nasal congestion, runny nose, nasal itching, dry mouth, red throat and pharyngeal secretions, integral pharyngeal follicle syndrome lower than before treatment, the treatment before and after posterior pharyngeal follicular,P>0.05,the difference was not statistically significant, indicating that the treatment group can not effectively reduce children postpharyngeal follicular, more than P of less than 0.05,the difference was statistically significant, indicating that the treatment group can significantly improve the treatment of upper airway cough syndrome in children with cough, expectoration, nasal congestion, runny nose, throat and other symptoms of red throat and pharyngeal secretion pharyngeal symptoms;(4)comparison of two groups of TCM symptom score after treatment, the treatment group cough, phlegm, throat, throat, nasal congestion, runny nose, nasal itching, dry mouth, red throat and pharyngeal secretions, pharyngeal follicular symptom scores were compared with the control group, the treatment is low,in addition to the posterior wall of follicular score, the other two groups.P was less than 0.05,the difference was statistically significant, indicating that the treatment group than the control group, can effectively improve the symptoms of upper airway cough syndrome in children with cough, phlegm, throat, nasal congestion, runny nose and throat pharyngeal secretions, red throat signs;(5)in the control group and the treatment group, the cough VAS score decreased after treatment, and the difference was statistically significant. The control group and the treatment group could improve cough symptoms of children with upper airway cough syndrome.(6)After treatment, the cough VAS score in the treatment group was lower than that in the control group. The difference was statistically significant. The cough symptoms in the treatment group were more significant than those in the control group.(7)four weeks after the end of treatment, only 3 cases recurred in the treatment group, and 10 cases relapsed in the control group. The recurrence rate in the treatment group was significantly lower than that in the control group. The difference was statistically significant. The treatment group could reduce the recurrence rate of the disease effectively. Conclusion Tongbi Zhike Decoction in treatment of children with upper airway cough syndrome(wind phlegm heat syndrome)clinical curative effect, safety and reliability, low recurrence rate.
