Clinical Observation On The Therapeutic Effect Of Xinfang Xuanfei Decoction And Montelukast Sodium In Children With Upper Airway Cough Syndrome (Fengqi Yufei Syndrome)

Objective: To research the clinical curative effect of Xinfangxuanfei decoction joint Montelukast Sodium on Children's Upper Airway Cough Syndrome(Stagnation of Wind-phlegm in the Lung). The study will open a new thought on the treatment of the disease, meanwhile promoting the progress in the field of combining traditional Chinese and western medicine treatment in pediatrics.Methods: 60 patients with Children's Upper Airway Cough Syndrome(Stagnation of Wind-phlegm in the Lung) were divided into two groups randomly. Observation group were treated with Xinfangxuanfei decoction joint Montelukast Sodium, while control group were treated with Montelukast Sodium. One period of treatment was 7 days with two courses of continuous treatment. The symptoms, signs, tongue and pulse changes of two groups were carried out with statistical analysis after two period of treatment.Results: According to the statistical results, the Xinfangxuanfei decoction joint Montelukast Sodium adept at healing symptoms and signs such as cough, sore throat,throat itching, dry throat, coughing up phlegm, pharyngeal swelling, local lymph node hyperplasia and tongue and pulse. 30 cases of the observation group, 14 cases were clinically controlled, 12 cases were markedly improved, 3 cases improved and 1 case had no effect. The total effective rate was 96.67%; while 30 cases in the control group, there were 9 cases with clinical control, 11 cases were markedly improved, 4 cases improved and 6case had no effect. The total effective rate was 80.00%.Conclusion: Xinfangxuanfei decoction joint Montelukast adept at healing Children's Upper Airway Cough Syndrome(Stagnation of Wind-phlegm in the Lung) and cure symptoms and signs such as cough, sore throat, throat itching, dry throat, coughing up phlegm, pharyngeal swelling, local lymph node hyperplasia and tongue and pulse.Combine traditional Chinese and western medicine therapy in the treatment of Children's Upper Airway Cough Syndrome(Stagnation of Wind-phlegm in the Lung) has its advantages and worth promoting further.
