| ObjectiveDue to China’s strategy of vigorously developing the oil industry, the demand for oil industry personnel has soared. If the working conditions of oil workers are not properly regulated, they may lead to physical illnesses and are more likely to trigger safety accidents. Therefore, paying attention to the working conditions of oil workers as a special professional group is of great significance to the construction of China’s oil industry.Studies have shown that occupational stress is related to job satisfaction. When job stress increases, job satisfaction decreases. Some studies divided occupational stress into two forms, endogenous and exogenous. The results showed that there was a positive correlation between endogenous occupational stress and job satisfaction, and there was a negative correlation between exogenous occupational stress and job satisfaction.Psychological capital consists of four dimensions: hope,self-efficacy,resilience,and optimism. The psychological state of workers can indirectly bring positive or negative effects on job satisfaction. Therefore, this paper introduces the psychological capital intermediary variables between the occupational stress of oil workers and the job satisfaction, discusses the relationship between the three, and proposes measures to help workers obtain a more stable psychological state and a good working environment.Based on the above theoretical support, this study proposes the following research hypotheses:1: In the three dimensions of occupational stress of oil workers, internal input and return are positively correlated with job satisfaction, and external pay is negatively correlated with job satisfaction.2: There is a positive correlation between psychological capital and job satisfaction.3: In the relationship between occupational stress and job satisfaction of oil workers, psychological capital plays an intermediary role.MethodsThis study used a cluster sampling method to conduct a questionnaire survey of 2,000 oil workers in four oil units under an oil company in western Liaoning Province. The content of the questionnaire consists of four parts, which are the basic situation questionnaire,pay-return imbalance questionnaire, job satisfaction questionnaire, and psychological capital scale.T-test,variance analysis,Pearson correlation analysis, hierarchical regression analysis were applied, and AMOS 20.0 was used to establish the structural equation model to analyze the mediating effect. The data results were entered using Epidata 3.0 for two people, and the data was processed using SPSS17.0 software.ResultsThe occupational stress score of oil workers was(66.17±6.78)points,and the job satisfaction score was(68.13±14.03)points.Positive correlations with job satisfaction were intrinsic input, return, and psychological capital. The correlation coefficients(r)were 0.09,0.25,and 0.62,respectively,and P<0.05.The negative correlation with job satisfaction was external pay.r=-0.27,P<0.05).Occupational stress and psychological capital all predict job satisfaction(F=346.436,P<0.001).In the relationship between occupational stress and satisfaction, psychological capital plays a partial intermediary role, and the mediating effect is 0.335,accounting for the total effect.29.11%.Conclusions1.In the three dimensions of occupational stress, there is an increase in external pay and job satisfaction is reduced;the greater the return and internal input, the higher the job satisfaction.2.Occupational stress and psychological capital have a predictive effect on job satisfaction.3.In the relationship between occupational stress and job satisfaction, psychological capital plays a role in mediation. |
