ObjectiveBy understanding migrant workers status of occupational stress, depression and job performance, then analyze the impact factors of these three variables and explore the correlation between these three variables.Meanwhile,we introduce psychological capital variables from the science aspect of organizational behavior, then investigate on mediating effect of psychological capital between occupational stress to depression symptoms and job performance of migrant workers. These studies have theoretical significance to enrich occupational psychological capital, may also provide a frame of reference for the migrant workers to improve performance and reduce occupational stress and depression.MethodsA cluster sampling was conducted during the period June to September 2014.Totally,1000 peasant workers from Construction and Manufacturing industry in Anhui province(Hefei,lu'an and Chuzhou)were randomly selected and surveyed by self-administered anonymous questionnaire.Self-made peasant workers in general questionnaire,Effort-reward Imbalance Questionnaire,Psychological Capital Questionnaire, job performance scale and Center for Epidemiological studies Depression Scale were used to measure demographic data of peasant workers with occupational stress, psychological capital, job performance and depressive symptoms. After collecting the questionnaires, using Epidata3.0 double data entry to establish a database.t-test and analysis of variance were used to compare the impact of demographic data on four research variables, while Pearson correlation was used to analyze the correlation between the four research variables.Multiple regression analysis was used to analyze the mediating effects of psychological capital.ResultsERI,PCQ-24,JP and CES-D questionnaire all have good reliability, the results of the study is highly credible. The results about demographic data affects four four research variables:sex has significant effects(p<0.01)on peasant workers' job performance(interpersonal facilitation);marital status and education have significant effects(p<0.05)on migrant workers' occupational stress and psychological capital(self-efficacy);depressive symptoms, occupational stress(reword and internal investment),psychological capital(self-efficacy)have significant differences in each working age group(p<0.05);income level has significant effects(p<0.05)on migrant workers' occupational stress, job performance, depressive symptoms and psychological capital(self-efficacy and optimistic).Peasant workers' occupational stress(extrinsic effort and internal investment)were positively associated with depressive symptoms(p<0.01),while reword and psychological capital were negatively correlated with depressive symptoms(p<0.01);and psychological capital has a partly mediating role in the relationship between occupational stress(extrinsic effort and reword)and depressive symptoms among migrant workers. There was negatively correlation(p<0.05)between occupational stress(extrinsic effort)and job performance(interpersonal facilitation and task performance);internal investment and psychological capital were positively correlated with job performance(p<0.01);reword was positively correlated with job performance(interpersonal facilitation and task performance)(p<0.01);and psychological capital(hope, resiliency and optimism)plays a whole mediating role in the relationship between occupational stress(internal investment and reword)and job performance(task performance)among peasant workers;psychological capital plays a whole mediating role in the relationship between occupational stress(internal investment and reword)and job performance(interpersonal facilitation among migrant workers.ConclusionsERI,PCQ-24,JP and CES-D questionnaires were used for Chinese well.Demographic data has significant effects on part dimensions of the study variables. It is found that there are partly correlations among occupational stress, psychological capital depressive symptoms and job performance among migrant workers.Psychological capital has a partly mediating role in the relationship between occupational stress(extrinsic effort and reword)and depressive symptoms among migrant workers;psychological capital(hope, resiliency and optimism)plays a whole mediating role in the relationship between occupational stress(internal investment and reword)and job performance(task performance)among peasant workers;psychological capital plays a whole mediating role in the relationship between occupational stress(internal investment and reword)and job performance(interpersonal facilitation among migrant workers.
