Objective:To observe the curative effect,recurrence and safety of Five Elements Acupuncture in the treatment of cancer-related depression,and to provide theoretical and data support for the application of Five Elements Acupuncture in the treatment of malignant tumors and the promotion of the five elements of acupuncture.Method:This study established randomly with self rating Depression Scale(SDS),Hamilton Depression Scale(HAMD),Hamilton Anxiety Scale(HAMA)and the Karnofsky performance status scale(KPS).Patients with cancer in Henan Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital from November 2014 to December 2016 were selected as the subjects.60 cases were included in the treatment group,the treatment group(n = 30)and the control group(n = 30).The control group was treated with Chinese medicine,according to the "standard" Chinese medicine expert consensus diagnosis of Cancer-related Depression.Daily 1 agent,take a rest for 5 days,for a total of 6 weeks,The treatment group was treated with Five Elements Acupuncture on the basis of traditional Chinese Medicine,1 times a week,a total of 6 weeks of treatment.Before and after three weeks of treatment,the Hamilton Depression Rating Scale(HAMD)and the Anxiety Scale(HAMA)score were used to evaluate the therapeutic effect.Sixth weeks after the end of treatment to stop treatment,respectively,at the end of the ninth week weekend,the weekend of the twelfth weeks of regular follow-up,record the SDS score,to assess the recurrence of tumor related depression;before and after 6 weeks of treatment Karnofsky performance status scale(KPS)was recorded;After the start of treatment and 6 weeks after the end of treatment,routine blood test,liver function test,renal function test and routine examination of the twelve lead ECG were performed to verify the safety of the experiment.The data were analyzed by SPSS20.0 software.Result:(1)Two groups of Milton Depression Scale(HAMD)score after third weeks of treatment,after sixth weeks of treatment compared with baseline were significantly decreased,and the corresponding group before treatment compared with statistical significance(P<0.05),but no significant difference between the two groups(P>0.05),the experimental group cure 3 week after score decreased significantly;(2)Comment on table in the Hamilton Anxiety Rating Scale(HAMA),the scores of the two groups after 3 weeks of treatment,after 6 weeks of treatment compared with baseline decreased significantly,from the beginning of the third week,the two groups compared with before treatment was statistically significant(P<0.05),after 6 weeks of treatment,the experimental group were significantly lower.After 3 weeks of treatment,6 weeks after treatment,the difference between the two groups was statistically significant(P<0.01);(3)3 weeks after treatment,the effective rate of the experimental group was 40%(12/30);the control group had an effective rate of(10/30),and the effective rate of the experimental group was 63.3%(19/30)in the control group(18/30)after the treatment of 6 weeks.(4)At the 9 and 12 weekends,the recurrence rate of the experimental group was better than that of the control group.After 6 weeks of treatment,the KPS scores of the patients in the two groups were significantly increased,compared with the corresponding group before treatment,there was statistical significance(P<0.05),but there was no significant difference between the two groups(P>0.05).Conclusion:(1)Five elements of acupuncture combined with traditional Chinese medicine decoction and the application of traditional Chinese medicine decoction can improve the clinical symptoms of patients with cancer-related depression,they have the same effect.(2)Treatment of Cancer-related Depression associated with anxiety,five elements of acupuncture combined with traditional Chinese medicine decoction is better than the application of traditional Chinese medicine decoction;(3)the recurrence of the five elements of acupuncture group is superior to the traditional Chinese medicine decoction group;(4)The five elements acupuncture as a traditional Chinese medicine treatment,can be used as an important palliative treatment for patients with advanced malignant tumor.
